Post your Reflections on blog

Thursday, March 10, 2011 ♥ 9:14 PM

Hi Guys,

It's time for REFLECTIONS!
I am sure that all of us will have different experiences to share.
Here are some questions which you can think about while visiting AWWA Training and doing the Pre-YEP, and also after both events.

--Your thoughts/experiences/feelings on disability and inclusion
--Your views on society prejudice or discrimination against people with disabilities and why (i.e. what are some common prejudice they know of and personally feel so and why are these floating around?)
--Your perspective on cross-cultural difference they think might have in Singapore and Cambodia
--How has the training provided help to prepare you?
--What insights have you gained so far about the organisation and the clients?
--What are the values/interests of the organization? Are they similar or different from yours?
-- Feelings working with the clients and what triggered that emotions.
-- Any insights gained or bad experiences? How would you react similarly/differently next time?

We will all have to post this by 20 March 2011, 23:59 in this blog! Please do not just write a few sentences or even worse, in point form. You can choose to answer some of the questions listed above. Don't have to answer all the questions. Please also sign off your name~
If you find it really really hard to express your thoughts and feelings down in words, you can find a situable picture to represent your thoughts/feelings or certain issues. Of cos, you would have to explain why u choose that picture to represent you and how it depicts your reflection.

You may choose to do this after the AWWA training or after Pre-YEP. Those who did not post, i don't know what will happen to you haha!

About Cambodia YEP 2011

Our YEP trip is from 21st March to 3rd April 2011. Our group which consists of 24 members, will be heading to Khmer Village (Cambodia) and Phnom Penh. We plan to bring joy and memories to the villagers; especially people with disabilities. Moreover, geared with our skills and a passion to reach out to communities beyond Singapore, we hope that both our students and the villagers will gain something precious from this trip.
